City of Refuge is a dynamic church in Melbourne Florida With a unique and powerful message. They came to Effex Agency because their current church had gone through a name change and there old site was unprofessional and required many man hours to update manually. They wanted a way to better showcase their ministries and congregation online. They also needed to connect all of their online activities in one place.
Wordpress Content Management System (CMS)
The website needed to be easy enough for church volunteers to update content. We knew that their best bet was Wordpress. A content management system that makes updating a website easy. A fully featured dashboard control panel gave them complete control over adding and editing pages, blogs, the events calendar and more.
Events Calendar
City Of Refuge, like most churches, has constant activities going on. The calendar on their website is not only easy for church staff to update but it also offers tools, like Outlook and iCal subscriptions and Google Calendar integration, for members and the public to keep track of what's going on.
Virtual Church
The new website features a "Cyber Church." This online church includes recent sermons in audio and video format, YouTube videos on a variety of biblical subjects and online prayer request form and links the the pastor's writings for local publications.
This was important to City Of Refuge because it allowed members who might miss a service somewhere to go where they could see what they were missed. it also works as a great marketing and recruiting tool to bring in new members from the public.
Responsive Design for All Devices
The website was built using responsive design, a technique where the website automatically moves around elements to adjust to different device sizes. That means a user on a smartphone sees a site optimized for them, while a user on a desktop or laptop will see an entirely different layout.
