The First Baptist Church of Malabar sits on Malabar Road in the center of town but their diverse congregation comes from all over South Brevard. They wanted a new website and brand to reflect their vibrant Christian community and get people, who may have overlooked them before, to take notice.

They came to Effex Agency because their current website was stale and difficult to update. It had not been updated for quite a while and the leaders of the congregation were afraid it was discouraging to visitors interested in the church, especially those in the twenty to forty demographic.

Wordpress Content Management System (CMS)

Knowing the church's needs to have congregation members easily update the website with new news and event items, Effex Agency built their new website on Wordpress. A content management system that makes updating a website easy. A fully featured dashboard control panel gave them complete control of adding and editing pages, news articles, events and more.

Events Calendar

Any church relies on an active congregation and the key to keeping them happy is to make sure theres lots to do and everyone knows about it. The calendar on the Malabar Baptist website is not only easy for church staff to update but it also offers tools, like Outlook and iCal subscription and Google Calendar integration, for visitors to keep up on events.

Podcasting Audio Sermons

After the website upgrade, its now easy for Malabar Baptist Church to put their sermons online. They upload an MP3, add the sermon notes and publish it to their website. The new sermon automatically appears on the front page, the sermon page and can be subscribed to with RSS.

Responsive Design for All Devices

The Malabar Baptist website was built using responsive design, a technique where the website automatically moves around elements to adjust to different device sizes. That means a user on a smartphone sees a site optimized for them, while a user on a desktop or laptop will see an entirely different layout. All of the content is still there it's just rearranged for each device.

Branding

Malabar Baptist Church had no consistent branding. They had a few different logos and no consistent branding. Effex Agency created an clear, modest brand for the church that would appeal to a wide variety of people and could be paired easily with stronger branding for individual ministries and event campaigns.
